FireFly™ PFI-LTE Primary Fault Indicator

The Telescada FireFly™ LTE Series of LTE Distribution Fault Sensors Provide Electric Distribution Utilities a Low Cost, Reliable and Rapid Method of Detecting Field Faults in Fuse Cust Outs, Overhead Lines and Reclosers. Telescada Firefly™ LTE are 2-Way Wireless DNP instruments that communicate directly with SCADA without the need of a data concentrator, RTU, or interposing radio device.
In normal operation the FireFly™ LTE consumes minimal power in a designed sleep mode. When an alarm event is recognized by the sensor, the FireFly™ LTE systems wake to send DNP alarm messages to SCADA, while triggering a high brightness external LED for aid in location. The FireFly™ LTE can remain in DNP mode for additional interrogation by SCADA. Once the fault is cleared, the FireFly™ LTE returns to sleep mode to await the next alarm event.
